En un estudio publicado por comScore (Eighty Five Percent of Brazilian Internet Users Visited a Social Networking Site in September 2008) se menciona que del grupo de paises Latino Americanos Puerto Rico es el país con la penetración mas bajita en la categoría de uso redes sociales con un 71% de la población de internautas (1.1 millones). Aun así, es el país con más crecimiento (10%) en el uso de redes sociales, comparado con el año pasado.

Estas estadísticas nos indican que es buen momento para que las PYMEs tomen ventaje de este crecimiento. Muchos de los servicios de redes sociales en línea son gratis y fáciles de usar. El único tipo de inversión que tienes que hacer es tiempo … y prácticamente es solo para mantener la información del perfil o grupo al día.

Facebook.com es el website de red social mas usado en Puerto Rico con más de 672 mil usuarios registrados en la red de San Juan, PR … es un buen sitio para empezar.

Mis recomendaciones (Facebook):

1. Crea un perfil personal y un perfil para el negocio
2. Ve a la configuración de tu Basic Information/Información Básica en la sección de Looking for/Buscando activa la opción de Networking
3. Crea un grupo para el negocio
4. Crea un Page/Página para el negocio
5. Invita a tus amistades, familiares y clientes que se hagan amigo del negocio o que se unan al grupo/página
6. Si tienes website o blog, promociona el grupo/pagina en ellas
7. Busca otras personas/negocios que estén “networking” (Ve a tu perfil, escoge el “tab” de Info y déle un clic al enlace que dice Networking)
8. Invita amistades de tus amistades para que se hagan amigos. Lo peor que puede suceder es que te ignoren.
9. Usa el “Status Update” para infórmale a tus amistades de alguna noticia, oferta o servicio. Recuerda que debe ser corto y preciso.
10. Haz entradas de artículos, eventos o consejos en tu perfil que la mayoría de las veces aparece en el “News Feed” de tus amigos en Facebook

Recuerda que la idea es darle exposición a tu negocio. Crear el perfil, grupo o página sin interactuar con otros usuarios no te va a traer los resultados que deseas. Recuerda que la interacción y contenido fresco mantiene a los usuarios regresando para más!
